June Elaine Nelson

Born in Denver, Colorado on July 2, 1933, June passed away peacefully on April 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous battle, she succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 80. She is lovingly survived by her four children; Robert (Gina) Nelson, Jacqueline Garramone, Janet (Don) Gilson and Sandra (Mike) Nelson. In addition, she was proud to have 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great~great grandson. She was preceded in death by two sons Don and Larry Nelson. June was a long time resident of Sacramento and retired from the Sacramento Police Department, Records Division. Many people described her as a sweet fun caring person. Her family describes her as loving and beyond an organized individual. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Christmas will never be the same without her. Memorial viewing was held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Friday, April 11, 2014. Funeral Services took place on Saturday April 12, 2014, 10:00am at W.F. Gormley and Sons, 2015 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento. Senior Chaplain Mindi Russell from Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento will preside. She was laid to rest at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 6700 Verner Avenue in Sacramento. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
