Alice passed away peacefully in her home in the company of those she loved on March 20, 2014. Apartment house owner and operator, past president of the Sacramento Apartment House Association, past president of Republican Women, charter member of the Mercy Guild, founding member of Valley Hi Country Club, as well as an early member of the Sacramento Yacht Club. An avid gardener, it was fitting that she left us on the first day of spring. The camellias, azaleas, and dogwood were in full bloom in the garden she created over 50+ years in her Land Park home. Born in Ross, California, on September 23, 1910, Alice soon thereafter moved to Sacramento with her mother Marie Dufrasne. In 1932, Alice married H. Lee Worlow and together they worked hard at the apartments while enjoying many civic and social activities. They had been married 60 years, when Lee passed away in 1992. Alice is survived by her daughter, Linda Lee Worlow of Claremont, CA, and her granddaughter Catherine Marie Worlow Whitaker and her great granddaughter Willa Rose Whitaker Jackson, of Marshfield, VT. The family suggests honoring Alice's memory with a gift to the Mercy Foundation, 3400 Data Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670, or a gift to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, 3333 Third Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95817. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sacbee/
