Rose Mary Campbell

Rose Mary passed away peacefully of cancer on May 21, 2014 surrounded by her large loving families. She was born on March 13, 1949 in Roseburg, Oregon to Louis and Violet Bettes. Rose Mary was raised in Pleasant Grove, CA and graduated in 1967 from East Nicolaus High School and then attended American River College. Rose Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Glenn Campbell; her devoted mother, Violet Bettes; and her six siblings: Joy Hulsey (Bill), Linda Santos (Robert), Sandra Jopson (David) and Louis, David and Michael Bettes and by six nieces: Shelley Volmer, Laurie Freeman, Joyce deFlores, Carrie Britton, Elizabeth Hardie, and Jessica Jopson. Rose Mary is also survived by her very caring step-children Stephen Campbell (Tami) and Denise Duncan (Rob) and loving Grandmother "TuTu" to Kelsey and Shelby Campbell and Kaeleana and Kalea Duncan . She is also survived by former husband David Michael Sullivan. Rose Mary worked for many years for the County of Sacramento at the Sheriff's Department and the District Attorney's Office downtown Sacramento where she happily retired in 2001 to play golf and travel. Rose Mary loved sports and excelled at snow and water skiing and was an avid golfer. She belonged to four golf clubs: Auburn Valley Country Club, Sacramento Women's Club at Haggin Oaks (where she was their captain for many years) Teal Bend Women's Golf Club, and Chargin's Golf Club. Rose Mary was a "golf course rater" with both PWGA and WGANC and enjoyed visiting courses all over northern California. Family and her many friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from noon to 4:00 PM at the Haggin Oaks Pavilion at 3645 Fulton Avenue, Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, it was Rose Mary's wish that memorial donations be made to: Morton Golf Foundation in care of "Little Linker's TOC", Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, 3645 Fulton Ave., Sacramento, CA 95821.
