A native Sacramentan, Prudence was born January 3, 1943, and passed away peacefully at her home on June 12, 2014 with family and friends at her bedside after a long, hard fight with esophageal cancer. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 36 years, John and daughter, Terresa (Tom) Grobe of Oakland, Iowa. She is also survived by her brother, Timothy (Hanne) Masters of Santa Cruz, CA and sister-in-law, Penny (Fritz) Glatzel, of Sacramento. She was also very proud of her 5 loving grandchildren: Shelby, Hadley, Chelsea, Nicholas and Jacob. Prudence also leaves behind a niece, three nephews and many cousins, family and friends. She now rejoins her beloved parents, the late Edward and Alice Masters of Sacramento. Prue attended Loretto High School and American River College. She worked for the Golden One Credit Union for 43 years. Prudence loved animals and enjoyed traveling. She and her friend Susie always took the back roads because, they "did not do freeways." She cherished the many trips to Santa Cruz and especially the great visits to the Grobe family farm in Iowa. She loved going to Hawaii and made many trips with her friend Mary Ellen and later with John and "The Kids". She and John would also go to the ranch in Pozo twice a year and loved San Luis Obispo area. Prudence was a BEAUTIFUL person who had one of those personalities that made friends instantly. Prudence was loved by anyone who ever met her and will be missed by many. A Mass of Christian Burial and Resurrection was held Tuesday June 17, 10:00am at St. Robert Catholic Church, 2243 Irvin Way, in Sacramento. Private burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or to your local SPCA fin honor of her love for animals.
