John E. Stone Jr.

John passed away in Sacramento on September 1, 2014. He was a native and lifetime resident of Sacramento, aged 72 years. He was the beloved husband of Marsha Cechetini Stone, loving father of Sean (Kristin) and Anthony Stone, loving brother of Stephen (Jo Ann) Stone and the late Christine Stone Williams, brother in law to Ken Williams, cherished grandfather of Hannah, Julia, Jonathan, and Gregory Stone, uncle of Patrick and Stephanie Stone and Kevin and Jennifer Williams. John was an employee for the Sacramento Bee for 30 years and coached Little League Baseball throughout the Sacramento Area for over 35 years, winning multiple championships as he guided and mentored many kids. Friends attended Rosary/Vigil Service at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 3235 Arden Way, Sacramento, on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial offered for the repose of his soul took place on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 am, also at St. Ignatius Loyal Church. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at their website.
