Tillie Vining

Tillie "Terry" Vining passed away peacefully on September 7, 2014 at the age of 92. Born and raised on the lower East Side of New York City, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio when she married Lou Vining, who passed away in 1975 after 30 years of marriage. On a trip to California, Terry met Juan Vega, the father of her daughter's future husband. They fell in love and Terry moved to Sacramento when they married in 1985. Terry and Juan enjoyed traveling, golf, and attending concerts until his passing in 2002. She is survived by her sister Pat, her children Gary (Julia) and Janet (Eric), stepchildren Eric (Janet), Michael, Cindy (Marjorie), and Paul (Julie), and grandchildren Diana, Emiliano, Alex, Keeley, Claire, Rose and Emma. Terry loved a good party, dancing, and traveling, especially to Hawaii. She enjoyed chocolate to her very last day. She dearly loved her cats. Donations in Terry's memory can be made to the SPCA or PETA. A Memorial Service for Terry was held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 21, at W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave., Sacramento.
