William Junior Rash

"Bill" passed unexpectedly on September 16, 2014 in Sacramento. He was an avid student of life, born to Vera Irene Arlt and Garvin Rash in Sacramento, California. He attended Norte Del Rio High School and graduated Class of 1969. Bill went into the Army and served in Vietnam until 1971 as a Specialist Fourth Class. Bill received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct and Joint Service Commendation Medal. After service, Bill worked for the State of California's Employment Development Department (EDD) advancing to the Northern California Regional Office of EDD to implement the California Worksite Education and Training Act (CWETA). Bill retired in 2010 as the Program Operations Manager for the State California's Employment Training Panel, which he helped design and instigate. He is survived by sisters, Joyce Bredwell and husband Robert of Sacramento, Diana Metts-Helmold and husband Richard of Meadow Vista, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-niece and great-nephews. His memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the Calvary Chapel of Sacramento, 6750 Florin-Perkins Rd, Sacramento, CA 95828. He was laid to rest at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, California. In lieu of flowers, Bill's sisters suggest a donation to his favorite charity the WIND Youth Services, 1434 Howe Ave, Suite 92, Sacramento, CA 95825
