Andrew C. Strain August 17, 1923- November 25,2014 Andrew was born in St. Louis, MO and graduated with honors from the University of Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and Korea and survived the sinking of his ship, the light cruiser USS Helena, in 1943 at the Battle of Kula Gulf. He was a consultant to government agencies in Pakistan, Thailand, Zambia, and Lesotho,and served as an assistant to Wilson Riles,California Superintendent of Public Education. He was elected a member of the San Juan School Board in the 1960s. Andy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Theresa, son Christian and his wife Marla, daughter Natale and her husband Rob, his brother Earl, sister Virginia, and grandchildren Michelena, Ella, Jack, and Sam. His first son Andrew Anthony "Tony" preceded him in death. Memorial Mass and interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel, 6700 21st Ave. on Dec. 27, 2014 at 12 noon.
