On December 23rd 2014, William J. Pesce II, a long time resident and member of the Sacramento community passed away at the age of 74. After completing his undergraduate and law school degrees from U.C. Berkeley, Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Korea. Upon returning home, Bill served 33 years as as a Sacramento County Supervising Deputy District Attorney. He was also a beloved teacher and mentor to the many young people he worked with and was known as the definition of a gentlemen. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and William Pesce and survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Elaine Dipietro Pesce, mother in law and sister in law, Olvido and Eloise DiPietro, as well as an extensive community of family, including the Geremia and Pesce relatives, friends and colleagues in the Sacramento area. Bill had a lifelong love for the Oakland Athletics, his dog Fudge, and among many things, he enjoyed travel, nature, Sacramento and Elaine's Italian cooking. The funeral services will take place at W.F. Gormley & Sons on Saturday, Jan. 3rd 2015 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the U.C.
