Gwinn, Connie Gallina Connie was born in Madison, Wisconsin on June 18,1922 to Vincenzo and Vincenza Gallina. She passed into eternal life on January 15, 2015. All who knew Connie were drawn to her inviting smile and generous heart. She embraced each day with gratitude and the spirit of adventure. She felt a deep connection to her Arbreshi (Sicilian) heritage. She was a passionate porcelain artist. Rich colors and edges of gold reflected her sparkling personality. Cooking was in her heart and soul and she loved nothing better than baking bread, or a batch of biscotti, to share with family and friends. Connie was lovingly devoted to her family. Her friends were dear to her and many of them traveled the journey of life with her from childhood. Connie will be deeply missed and her memory cherished. She is survived by her loving family: brother, Salvatore (Sam) Gallina, sister, Josephine Palermo, two daughters, Sister Janet Marlene Gwinn, osf and Cathy Susan Gwinn, sonin-law, Dennis Brophy, grandsons and spouses, Dylan Patrick Hogan and Anne Hogan,Tobias Gwinn Hogan and Cheryl Wakerhauser and two great-granddaughters, Mia Rose Hogan and Sophia Gallina Hogan, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to W.F. Gormley & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22; viewing beginning at 4 p.m. and vigil at 7p.m. and a Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, January 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 26th and K Street. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's memory to your favorite charity that nourishes body and spirit.
