Margaret Harmon

Margaret Harmon November 27, 1944 - February 2, 2015 On Monday, February 2nd, Margaret Carol Harmon, "Margie", of Valley Springs passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in Sacramento after a brief battle with Leukemia. She was 70 years old. Margie was born in San Francisco on November 27, 1944 to Fredrick and Marion May, the 3rd of 5 daughters. After graduating from San Mateo High School in 1962, Margie fell in love and was married to Ronald Gerald Harmon in Carson City, Nevada on December 28, 1963. After having 3 children, they settled in Santa Rosa in 1979, where they lived for 20 years. She spent her time gardening and tending their 6 acre farm as she raised her children. They retired to Valley Springs in 1998, where Margie loved to play golf and joined numerous ladies groups, playing cards and having teas and socials with her wonderful community of friends. Margie loved to travel and to spend time with her large, very close family. She is preceded in death by her father, Frederick Henry May and mother, Marion Carolyn Stender. Margie leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Ronald Gerald Harmon, and their children, Michelle (George) Romero of Santa Rosa, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Harmon of Sheep Ranch and Emily Harmon of Napa, as well as her sisters, Barbara Ann Phelps of Ventura, Carleen Ryan of Santa Clara, Jane Muniz of Highlands Ranch, CO, Robin Balestra of Arvada CO and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, February 14th at the Newall Chapel at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home in Colma, with a celebration of her life to follow at The Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society in Margie's name would be a great honor.
