Brousseau, Michael Born June 21,1941 passed away on May 22, 2015, at the age of 73 due to complicated liver failure. Michael was proceeded in death by his son Stephen. He was the devoted husband to Shirley Brousseau for 52 years. Loving father to Jeffrey and devoted grandfather to Joseph and Dylan, who he was raising with Shirley. He was also the oldest brother to Pete, Jeff, and Pat. Immediately after graduating from McClatchy high school, Michael was employed by the City of Sacramento, Tree Trimming Division. Heights were never a problem for Mike, and he loved the outdoors. But when the opportunity to join a new Sacramento company presented itself, Mike took the chance. He was one of the first salespersons with Tony's Fine Foods. It was with Mike's amazing people skills that he helped grow Tony's to the successful multimillion dollar business it is today. Mike retired from Tony's after 36 years of employment. But traditional retirement was never really Mike's style. Mike enjoyed staying busy and went to work part time at Hollywood Hardware. There Mike enjoyed his co-workers and devoted customers. When Micheal wasn't working he was raising his two grandsons Joseph and Dylan. The boys kept Mike busy, with the latest iPhone and the endless chauffeuring to baseball, football, rugby and soccer- practices, lessons and games. Michael and Shirley were quite a team juggling the boys schedules. But no matter how busy everyone was, Mike found time to take fishing trips with his life long, best friend, Lee Charles. Those trips were well documented with Mike's other passion, taking pictures. Lots of pictures were taken of the boys, the boat and fishing. Mike's sudden unexplained illness was hard. While searching for answers, Lee was by Mike's side the entire time. During Mike's long hospitalizations, it was Mike's many devoted friends, visits, and calls that helped keep his spirits up. Laughter was truly Mike's best medicine. The outpouring of love and support shown for Mike, kept the entire family going. Michael's search for answers took him to California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco where Dr. Raphael Merriman, Medical Director of Liver Transplantation, tried to find those answers. For Micheal those answers would not be found in time. Much research is needed so others never have to go through what Mike went through. The family would like to ask, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: Liver Research Fund C/O Dr. Raphael Merriman, Medical Director, Liver Transplantation, 2340 Clay Street 3rd floor San Francisco, CA 94115 Service for Michael will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at: W.F.
