Victor Thomas Petkus Sr.

Victor Thomas Petkus, Sr passed away in Roseville CA on June 9, 2015, he was 88. Born in Chicago IL July 2, 1926, he was proud of his hometown. He served in the Army during WW II and a 2n tour of duty after WW II in Calif. He played professional baseball in the MLB during the late1940's and his passion for sports was lifelong. He enjoyed CA during his service years and baseball career,choosing to settle his growing family there. He was a loving Dad and is survived by his 6 sons, Victor Jr, Michael, Kevin, Dan, Vincent, Keith and 2 daughters, Rita Springer and Mary Newton. All his children reside in No. CA today. He was a dear grandfather to 14 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen, and caring daughter Theresa. Flowers are appreciated or a donation to the american cancer society in his name. A Catholic Mass and burial will be held on Friday, June 19, at 10:00 am at the Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave, Sacramento, CA 95841
