Aloisia Isosaki

Isosaki, Aloisia Theresia Great Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Gardener, Seamstress, Loving Wife and Friend. Aloisia (Alice/Oma) Isosaki, 87, died Monday, July 13 from gallbladder cancer. Born in Zurich, Switzerland on July 4, 1928 to Joseph Johan Jost and Rosa Veronika Metzger. Alice's first job was in Switzerland as a Beauty Shop Apprentice, from there she became a dressmaker in Germany, then a clerk for a Tent Company. After WWII ended in Germany, Alice worked at the US Military Post Exchange in Frankfurt. There she met Hisashi "Joe" Isosaki, who was stationed there with Occupation Forces. They married in August 1948, and soon after moved to Hawaii where Alice worked as a dressmaker. Soon her family began to grow. This is when she took on her final job and the one she was most proud of - a mother and homemaker. Alice loved the Alps and the German countryside. She considered Germany her home as well as the States. She was most proud of being a US citizen. She loved the USA! As a dedicated mother, Aloisia budgeted precisely and ensured Joe and their 8 children were clothed with homemade outfits and fed well with German and Japanese meals. Aloisia always kept busy and loved developing and excelling in gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, leather craft, herbology, cooking, and was most interested in history, International customs, foods and beliefs. Aloisia's generosity abounded throughout her lifetime, giving to many a charity. Aloisia was never angry and always loving and upbeat. Aloisia will be terribly missed by all who knew her and were touched by her. Aloisia was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Jost; mother, Rosa Metzger; sister, Maria Reuss; husband of 60 years, Hisashi Joe Isosaki; and daughter, Sheila (Frank) McKee. Aloisia is survived by her 7 children: Michelle (Dan) Pyhtila, Valerie Fish, Susan (Joe) Pane, Michael (Heidi) Isosaki, Jean (Jon) Seaton, Patrick Isosaki, and Anthony (Londa) Isosaki - 17 grandchildren: Briana (Jeremy) Broin, Leah (Greg) Geiman, Kirsten (Tito Ramos) Pyhtila, Eirik (Laura) Pyhtila, Nick Fish, Sarah Fish, Peter Fish, Joseph (Annmarie) Pane IV, Midori Isosaki, Mikayla Isosaki, Jennifer Guro, Jamie Seaton, Jeremy Seaton, Kacie Isosaki, Zach Isosaki, Joseph (Felicia) Isosaki, and Hannah (John) Pfeufer - 7 great-grandchildren: Rand Broin, Adelaide Broin, Aliana Geiman, Lillian Ramos, Gabrielle Ramos, Anna Pyhtila, and Joseph Pane V; in Germany, her niece Carola Elbert, great nephew Christian and great niece Veronika Elbert.
