Julaine Adeline Marburger

(1923-2015) Julaine Adeline Marburger died on June 25, 2015, at the age of 92 after a brief illness of congestive heart failure. She was born to Evar and Julia Anderson and grew up in Ashtabula, Ohio. She was married to Robert Marburger who preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Janesta Stoessel. Before coming to Sacramento in the 1960's, Julaine worked for Boeing in Seattle where she would draft and design repairs to air plane wings. In Sacramento she served as the secretary at First United Methodist Church and later worked for the Water Resources Division where she took water measurements and determined water flow for the county. Julaine and Bob were both confirmed in 1967 at All Saints Episcopal Church where they were both members until their deaths. Julaine loved her church and sang soprano in the choir, was active in the flower guild and a great supporter of the church concert series. She studied art and music at Ohio University, was herself an accomplished painter in oils and was active in the Art Service Group of the Crocker Art Museum. She also loved decorating, current clothing fashions, eating at Mimi's or Leatherbys, anything chocolate and her glass of Chardonnay! She was also a Gentle Lady of the Knights of the Vine. Julaine was a great lover of animals, especially cats, and often supported animal lover organizations. She also supported several charities for veterans and world hunger. A Celebration of Life and Service of Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2076 Sutterville Rd., Sacramento 95822, across from City College. A Musical Prelude with harp will start at 10:30 a.m. There will be a private interment of ashes at East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Organ Maintenance Fund at All Saints Episcopal Church, the Art Service Group which benefits the Crocker Art Museum or to the Sacramento SPCA.
