Mary Turnacliff Strauch

Mary Maude Turnacliff-Strauch "Maudie" Mary Maude passed away peacefully at the age of 82 with family by her side. Mary was born August 9, 1933 in Whitefish, MT. to Violet (Landeck) and Joseph Lloyd Turnacliff. The family moved to Sacramento in 1935, making Sacramento their home. Mary attended St. Francis High School and graduated from Willamette University in Salem, OR. where she joined the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She had an un-ending love for animals, if she noticed a homeless person with a dog in tow she would give them money and blankets as long as they promised to use the money to feed the dog and provide warmth. Mary Maude left this earth to join her mother, father, brother Mike Turnacliff, and her beloved niece Jill Turnacliff-Meda, and the love of her life Earl F. Strauch and her fur companion Benjamin. Mary is survived by her two daughters Deon (husband Robert F. Bozzo) of Sacramento and Susie (husband Tim R. Hammontree) of Scottsdale, AZ., step-daughter Connie Sacks of Swartz Creek, MI., six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and her two faithful fur companions Pismo & Sophie. Private Services were held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Sacramento SPCA in the name of Mary Maude Turnacliff Strauch.
