In Sacramento, on August 26, 2015. Known to her family and friends as "Bunny", she left this world after a long and wonderful life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William J. Luck and her sister, Helen Marie Cleary. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Peter J. Perich of Sacramento. She is lovingly survived by her only child, Nancy Luck-Everhart, as well as, her two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Ballou and Jennifer Ballou-Pearson and her great grandson, Evan J. Murray. She is also survived by 4 nephews and 3 nieces. She was born November 24, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Rogers) Gearon. She grew up in Chicago/ Oak Park, Illinois and was educated there. She married "Bill" Luck in 1938 and "Bunny" and "Bill" drove their Model T Ford out Route 66 to San Francisco, Calif. Where they made their home and had their daughter, Nancy. They resided there until 1948 when a job transfer brought them to Sacramento where Mabel resided for 67 years. She was active in Holy Spirit Parish for many years. She was a Girl Scout Leader at Holy Spirit School; a PTA member; a Board Member of St. Patrick's Home; a member of Mercy Guild; and a member of Los Ninos Service League of Sacramento Children's Home. Always interested in fashion, she was a model in many fashion shows in Sacramento over the years. Mabel aka "Bunny" worked for the State of California in the State Treasurer's Office in the Capitol. She retired from there after many years. Mabel's passion was playing bridge and played until her mid-90s. She was also a voracious reader and crossword puzzler. Always the true "Irish" Colleen, she has an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed the telling of and listening to humorous anecdotes with her friends. She resided at Mercy McMahon Terrace for 11 years where she had and made many friends. During her life, she traveled to many countries as well as the U.S. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her family and friends in her home. She was 102 years old--- a very long life to be sure--- Goodbye, Pretty Lady. She will be sadly missed by all those she loved and cared for. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A private interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
