August 15, 1936 — September 11, 2015

Kenneth E. Pappenheim

08/15/1936 - 09/11/2015 Ken was born in Eaton, Colorado. He joined the Air Force in 1954 and was stationed at McClellan AFB for 8 years. There he met his "Bride," a name he fondly used when referring to his wife of 59 years, the former Christine Martin. They had 3 children and he was so very proud of them. His daughter, Lorraine Biddle of Sutter Creek (Phil); daughter, Theresa Ortez of Half Moon Bay (Tim) and son John Pappenheim (Susan) of Dunnigan will all miss the happiness they shared with their Dad. He loved being with his 5 grandchildren and had the great joy of welcoming his first great-grand-child, born a few days before his 79th birthday. He is survived by 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was a Friend of Bill for 35 years and touched hundreds of lives, showing them a road to sobriety. He sponsored and produced the Big Book Seminar in Sacramento for many years. Ken was a docent at the Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento after his retirement. He was easily recognized in his dapper conductor costume including his black Derby. He loved music and sang as a member of the Country Club Aires and the Capitolaires. His beautiful bass voice will be missed. All who knew and loved Ken are invited to the Funeral Service to be held at the Newman Catholic Center, 5900 Newman Ct, Sacramento, at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 19th, followed by a reception in the church hospitality room. Remembrances can be offered to the Newman Catholic Community (916) 454-4188.
