Tom Wilson, 58, a 5th generation and life-long resident of Sacramento, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015, with his family and friends by his side. He was born October 11, 1956, the son of Nancy and Bob Wilson, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Kent (Deirdre); his niece and nephew, Rita and Sam; his sister, Sandy; niece Enid; and his sister, Ann; niece and nephew, Claire and Neil. Tom worked in the family business, McLaughlin Draying Company, established in 1871. He served in many positions throughout his career there and eventually became the Chief Executive Officer, a position he held until his death. Tom was an avid outdoorsman with a great love for skiing, biking, swimming and scuba diving. Most of all he loved sailing and being out on the water in the San Francisco Bay. His passion for barbecuing with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews, Jim Stitt and his daughters Danielle and Allison, and John Lukens, was always at the center of Tom's life. To know and love Tom was a gift and a blessing to his family and close friends. He lived his life with a warrior spirit, a man of great love and a strong heart for others. With wings forever folded, may you rest well, dear brother and friend. Please join us for the Funeral Mass on Saturday October 3, at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608. In lieu of flowers the family would love for you to donate to the charity of your choice in Tom's name.
