James Mcfall

Jim McFall, 91, passed away on Oct. 3, 2015. Born on April 3, 1924, he was the son of the late Walter and Vera McFall, an East Sacramento family whose ancestors arrived in California in a covered wagon with John Winters. Jim is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia, sons Scott (Cynthia) and Robert (Constance), brother William (Geraldine) and 5 grandchildren, Russell, Alex, Brian, Amanda, and Hilary; 2 great grandchildren, Marlee Mae and Liam; and 10 nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister, Connie Lou Bungay, in 2013. Jim graduated from Sacramento High School in 1941 where he was president of the student body. He served in WW II in the Army Air Corps, in a B-24 Liberator as part of the 29th Bomber Squadron over the Pacific. Upon returning to Sacramento, he worked for and retired from Pacific Bell after 34 years, where he was Superintendent of Right of Way. Jim was a long time member of Fremont Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder and in many volunteer positions. He was President of the Greater Sacramento Kiwanis Club, American Right of Way Assoc, and the Sacramento USC Alumni Club and served on the USC Scholarship Committee. He was Director of the Sacramento National Alliance of Businessmen. After retiring, Jim received his teaching credential from UCD and taught at ARC for 5 years. Jim enjoyed being part of the Sacramento Interfraternity Reunion Club, SIRS, playing golf, and traveling. If anyone knew Jim, they knew he loved college sports teams, and being with friends and family. A military service will be held at East Lawn, Folsom Blvd at 11:00 on Sat. Nov. 7. Memorial Services will be held on that same day at 1:00 at Fremont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Dr. Sac, 95819. Reception to follow.
