Albeth Clare Scott

Albeth was a third generation Sacramentan, whose family emigrated from Ireland in the 1850's. Her maternal grand-father, Michael Hanrahan was one of the premiere stone-masons involved in construction of the State Capital Building, many historical structures in Placerville, and operated a flourishing wood and coal business. Her mother was Elizabeth Hanrahan and her father Alexander Eustace Acheson. She was first cousin of former Secretary of State Dean Acheson. Married to Alfred I. "Tom" Scott (1915-2014) in 1941, a marriage that lasted 73 years. Proud mother of Irv, Roger, and Fr. Mark; mother-in-law to Sylvia (Irv), Marcia and Marianne (Roger); grandmother of Chris, Brian, Matt, Caitanya, Ruana, Lindsay, Devin, and Sean Scott; great grandmother of Charlie and Lucas Scott; aunt of Sue Wilcox and Judy Jordan. Loved and valued her Irish heritage Proud of her family above all else Voracious reader, master bridge player, lifelong volunteer Saw the good in everything and in all people Life problems were merely "character builders" Every cloud always had a silver lining Laughter was always the best medicine Heaven has another angel and "Irish Eyes Are Smiling."
