Coupe, loving father of Karen Coupe-Bonnett, Melinda Bazlen, Timothy and Terrence Coupe, preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Coupe, father-in-law of Gary Bazlen, Connie Coupe, and Debi Coupe, preceded in death by brother, Charles Edwin Coupe, Jr., Son of the late Charles Edwin Coupe, Sr. and Helen Hasert Coupe, grandfather of Cynthia, Heather, Kathryn, Tyler, Cathryn, Kayla, Timothy Jr., great-grandfather of Joseph, Robert, Abigail and Michael, great-great-grandfather of Izabel. A native of California and a 90+ year resident of Sacramento aged 94 years. A graduate of University of California Berkeley, University of Pacific College of Physicians and Surgeons where he graduated with degrees of B.S. and D.D.S. in 1945. He served in the Navy and was first stationed at Treasure Island in San Francisco and eventually transfer to Pearl Harbor and re-routed to the Naval Hospital in Guam as Lt. Cmdr, as the Navy Dentist. Dad was a member of the Phi Chi Fraternity & The Timoian Club at Sacramento High School, as well as a yell leader at Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento. As a member at Del Paso Country Club for 54 years, he was as a past Board Member serving on the Membership Committee, Swim Team and Entertainment Committees and the Director of the Del Paso Follies. Dad enjoyed many, many hours playing golf on the Old Course, and he played well into his late 80's. He lived a long and happy life endlessly teasing his kids, and his wife and friends alike. He enjoyed many a good joke and retold them often. Dad spent many years as a young boy and man at The Mill where he was tasked with cutting telephone poles among other chores for his father's lumber mill. The endless stories of the characters who worked at the Mill as well as his own follies with Brother Ed, Cousin Gail and Cousin Arthur were his fondest of all and we all spent many a time around the dinner table laughing at all of his adventures. Above all Dad was a caring dentist, husband and father who took care of so many patients for 50 years in his own practice in Sacramento and that was something he was very proud to brag about. Our family celebrated many vacations at Lake Tahoe, where Dad taught us to sail (and golf!) in the summer, and ski in the winter. Dad was a member and past president of the Kandahar Ski Club of California, and only stopped skiing when his kids passed him up on the hill. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 (Dad and Mom's 70th Anniversary), at W.F. Gormley Sons, 2015 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, California 95811. Remembrances may be made in his memory to UOP-School of Dentistry-Office of Development, 155 Fifth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.
