Anthony "Tony" Ingoglia Jr.

Anthony Ingoglia, Jr. of Tony’s Fine Foods passed away peacefully from congestive heart failure on Saturday, November 28th, at his home in Granite Bay. Born in Sacramento, he attended Immaculate Conception grammar school, Christian Brothers High School (class of 1953), and St. Mary’s College of California, from which he graduated in 1957. After college, Tony joined the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was trained and served as a photographer.

After his military service, Tony returned to Sacramento to join his father in the family business, then named the Tony Ingoglia Salami Co., as one of four employees. His innovative distribution ideas helped the company grow. In the early 1970s the three Ingoglias (Tony Sr., Tony Jr. and youngest brother Michael) added new products and developed a larger distribution network. The Tony Ingoglia Salami Co. became the Tony Ingoglia Salami and Cheese Co. in 1976, adding multiple new distribution facilities in West Sacramento. As Sacramento expanded, so did the family business with the addition of brother Donald; the company was finally renamed Tony’s Fine Foods in 1979.

Tony had a passion for golf, hunting, trap and skeet shooting and boating. But his absolute passion, above all else, was his family and the family business. And prosciutto and cannoli.

Tony is survived by his wife of 31 years, Haley, and a large blended family of six children: Traci (Tom), Lori (Abe), Paige, Lisa (Jim), Candy (Bill), Tom, and twelve grandchildren: Brogan, Lucas, Connor, Joseph, McCall, Drake, Paris, Taylor, Kaitlin, Max, Will and Tali. Tony is also survived by his brother Michael (Kate), sister Joan (Cob), sister-in-law Pat, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, Tony Sr. and Adele, and his brother Don predeceased him.

A Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 6th at W.F. Gormley and Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 7th at Sacred Heart Church, 1040 39th St. Sacramento. Burial will be Private, but there will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the Mass.
