Dorothy Christine Ennis

Dorothy "Dina" Ennis, 83, passed away on December 31, 2015. A Sacramento native, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Sacramento High School (Class of 1950) and Sacramento City College. It was at Sacramento City College where she re-connected with her Sacred Heart classmate, James Ennis.  He became the love of her life for 42 years until James's death in 1998. They were married on June 23, 1956 and had four daughters, Lori, Lisa, Julie and Maribeth. They enjoyed many years of traveling with friends, camping and golfing.   They loved relaxing at their vacation home in Bodega Bay.  They were members of Valley Hi Country Club where Dina enjoyed golfing and being Captain of the ladies nine hole golf group, the Niners. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain. She cherished her three grandchildren Morgan (Leu), James (Shurtz) and Grace (Leu) with whom she spent many hours of having tea parties, teaching songs on the piano and reading to them their favorite books. She is survived by her three brothers, her twin Jerry Schnetz, Robert Schnetz (Teddy) and Rick Schnetz (Sharon) as well as her brother and sister-in- law Robert and Kathy Ennis. Loving mother- in-law to Ben Leu.   Loving Aunt to Vickie Desouza (Dave), David Ennis (Traci), Theresa Shuping, Kristi O'Connor, Eric Schnetz, Tim Schnetz (deceased) , Mike Schnetz, Melody Schnetz and Emily Schnetz. Friends are invited to attend a Rosary Service on January 14th at 7:00PM at W.F. Gormley and Sons, 2015 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento.    Friends are also invited to attend a Memorial Mass on January 15th at 11:00 AM, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 660 Florin Road, Sacramento, with a reception following the mass at the St. Anthony's Memorial Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern CA, 2641 Cottage Way #4, Sacramento, CA  95825.
