David Lee Richardson

"Sonny" passed away in his sleep March 2, 2016.  He was born on May 4, 1950 in Akron, Ohio. 
He was preceded in death by his dad, Dennis, mother, Margaret and his sister Nancy Harpster. 

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.  He spent the majority of his life in the Sacramento area. 

A graduate of California State University - Sacramento, he worked for the State of California prior to his retirement. 

He is survived by his brother, Dennis (wife Linda), along with nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by his cherished "California family of friends". 

A Memorial Celebration of Sonny stories was held on Saturday, March 19 at 12:00 noon at W.F. Gormley and Sons, in downtown Sacramento, 2015 Capitol Avenue. 

Directly following the service, a reception was hosted by Randy and Nancy Higgins at the The Old Tavern located at 1510 20th Street. A private inurnment will be at The Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at a later date.

His sense of humor and kindness will be dearly missed.
