Sutton, Eileen Alanna McElligott

Eileen Alanna McElligott Sutton was born in Hollywood, CA on August 20, 1925 to parents, Mary Ellen and A. Emmett McElligott. Eileen passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016, just 16 days before her 91st birthday. Eileen moved to Sacramento as a child and attended St. Francis Elementary School and graduated from St. Joseph High School. Eileen married the love of her life, Hubert Ray “Jack” Sutton and had eleven children. She was preceded in death by husband Jack, her loving daughters Carol and Nora Sutton, her parents, her brother Owen McElligott and her sister Marylou McGrath. Eileen was a proud Irish Catholic, a devoted mother and widow, who placed great emphasis on family, religion and education.  Eileen is survived by her sons Brian, Kenneth (Gloria), John (Patricia) and daughters Kathleen Calcagno (Daniel), Gail Allen (William), Cecelia, Mary, Joan, and Julia Stedifor (Jarret). Eileen was a devoted grandmother and is survived by 7 grandchildren: Kristin, Michael, Teal, Makena, Brianna, Megan and Jack. The rosary and funeral mass will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery (St. Joseph’s Chapel) located at 6700 21st Avenue in Sacramento on Friday, August 12th, 2016 at Noon, with graveside services following.
