George Lewis Ebling

George Lewis Ebling

George passed away on Mon. 9/26 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.  Born to Linden and Beatrice Ebling in Waterville, MN George served his country in the army in WWII, and as an officer in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He attended the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN and then Boalt Hall School of Law in Berkeley, CA.  He moved to Sacramento, where he was an attorney with CalWest Life.  He married his wife of more than 50 years, Luz Monique Gardner, who preceded him by 4 years.  George and Luz had 3 sons, Phil, Geoff and Greg, and deeply loved their 3 daughters-in-law, Debra (Burney), Barbara (Caldwell) and Marcela (Henao), and their 7 grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, Tiffany, Dalton, Kamryn, David and Daniel.  The viewing will be Fri. 9/29 from Noon until 4 PM at W. F. Gormley & Sons (2015 Capitol Ave).  The funeral will be Mon. 10/3 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church (1333 58th St), followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery (6509 Fruitridge Rd.) and a reception at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, George requested that donations in his memory be made to Jesuit High School, 1200 Jacob Lane, Carmichael, CA 95608.
