George Badella

 George William Badella, age 85, of Sacramento, California died Wednesday October 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.  George was born November 30, 1931 to George and Rosa Badella in Sacramento, CA, the youngest of 3 children.  He graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1950 and Santa Clara University in 1954.  He received his teaching credential from the University of San Francisco in 1956 and, through post graduate work, obtained a Masters degree with an administrative credential at Sacramento State University.  In 1957, George began a long career in education with the then Grant Union High School District.  He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joanne; son Bill; daughters Rose, Julie, Paula and Denise; brothers-in-law Joe, Cecil, and Louie;  sons-in-law Buddy and Dave; daughter-in-law Angie; grandchildren Andy, Katie, Kevin, Jacob and Jennifer; and many nieces and nephews.  George was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Mary and Bernice.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Brothers High School, 4315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Sacramento, California.  Visitation will be held October 24, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at W.F.Gormley and Sons Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on October 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  at Saint Charles Borromeo.  Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
