Javier Jesus Romo

Javier Jesus Romo, age 61, of Sacramento CA passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.

 Javier was born in San Juan, Texas to his father Jose (deceased) and mother Amanda. Survived by his loving wife Anne of 34 years; daughter Amanda, son Miles; siblings Joel(Maria), Jaime(deceased), Silvia Hulett(George), Raul, Ana Falero(Hector), Lily Herman(Raymond), Leticia(Bill), Rosalba Tacdol(Louie), Fernando, Angelica Ramos(Joe), Sandra(Steve), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces/nephews, and great nieces/nephews.

 Javier graduated from Norte del Rio High School, Sacramento City College and Chapman University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. His employment included Mike’s Market and The Sacramento Bee.  Javier retired from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) where he served a distinguished twenty-three year career.  As a Senior Youth Correctional Counselor, Javier was particularly proud of two accomplishments, (1) his work as an instructor at the Basic Juvenile Correctional Academy; and (2) providing rehabilitation skills to troubled youth upon their re-entry into society.

 Javier was a caring and loving man, who enjoyed traveling, softball, racquetball, coaching youth sports, friends, and especially joking, laughing and dancing with his enormous family!!  Most of all, he cherished his time with Anne, Amanda, Miles, Tia and Minnie, his fur-babies.

 A special thank you to family and friends who assisted in Javier’s final days, Mama-Grande Amanda, Angelica(Kiki) Ramos, Leticia (TC), Rosie, Fernando, Sandra, Gary Anderson, Linda Epley and Sam Pedicone, Renee Vasquez, Henry and Gina Lum, Kenny and Geegee Fewer.
