Margaret "Peggy" Gail Maestretti, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Elk Grove surrounded by her large loving family on January 17, 2017. Margaret, and her twin sister Patricia, were born to Gail and Mary McNett at Donner Summit California on February 17, 1926. Margaret was preceded in death, in 1994, by her loving husband of 39 years, Don William Maestretti. She was also preceded in death by her brother Joseph McNett and his wife Virginia. Margaret is survived by her sister Patricia Walsh and her husband James Walsh of Reno, NV. She was the loving and devoted mother of Louise, Joseph (Rosemary), Anna Maria Fairbairn (William), Theresa Vina (Gustavo), Gerard, Theodore, Thomas (Leann), and Timothy. She was loving "Grandma" to 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and dear "Aunt Peggy" to 23 nieces and nephews. Margaret was a resident of Elk Grove for the past 5 years and a resident of Sacramento for over 60 years where she raised her family, and a was a piano teacher for over 40 years. She was a member and past president of the Sacramento Chapter of the California Music Teachers Association. Margaret was a devoted member of the Carmelite Third Order for many years. She was a 1948 graduate of San Jose State College where she obtained a teaching credential and taught elementary and high school in California for several years prior to her marriage in 1955.

All are invited to attend a Rosary to be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove on Thursday January 26, at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend a funeral mass to be celebrated at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove at 11:00 am, Friday January 27, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento.
