Alice "Chickie" Spisak

Alice E. “Chickie” Spisak, age 80, of Sacramento, California, passed away on January 28, 2017 at UC Davis Medical Center. Alice was born June 6, 1936 to James H. and Alice M. Grady in Springfield, Illinois, the third of 6 children. She went to school in Springfield. She married her teenage sweetheart, John E. Spisak, on June 9, 1955 at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. Alice worked as a sales clerk and department supervisor for the Army Air Force Exchange Service for 17 years. A loyal friend and patriot, Alice loved bowling and bowled on the Friday night bowling league. She enjoyed watching her husband bowl in the weekly SIRS bowling events. She is survived by John, her loving husband of 65 years; siblings Pauline (Polly), Patricia (Pat), Michael (Mike), and Coleen (Dolly); son John (Buddy); daughter Kathleen (Kathy); daughter-in-law Rose; grandson Andy and his wife, Theresa; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Madonna (Jo). Visitation will be held February 15, 2017 at 4-6 pm followed by a Rosary at 6 pm at W.F.Gormley and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with a mass on Thursday, February 16, at St. John Vianney Church. Burial services will be held on Friday, February 17, 10 am at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon.
