Douglas E. Holbrook

Douglas Evan Holbrook, born June 28, 1933 in Scotia, California to Evan and Marion Holbrook, passed away on January 26, 2017, surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lynda; his children Julie Achiro (David), Sheri Carello (Ronald) and Michael Holbrook.  His is survived by his four grandchildren, Gabriella and Sabrina Achiro and Tyler and Daniel Carello.  His is also survived by his three sisters Barbara Jolly, Judith Stapleton, Patricia Clarke.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Holbrook and his parents. Douglas was in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956, when he was Honorably Discharged.  Douglas worked for the Sacramento County Public Defender’s office for 36 years, for 23 of those years he was the Chief Investigator.   Douglas was a faithful and active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for over 50 years.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A memorial mass will be held for Douglas at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3159 Land Park Drive, Sacramento, CA at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017.  Burial services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or Mercy General Hospital.
He will be missed by all who knew him.  May he rest in peace.
