 Passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on February 27 2017.  Beloved husband of the late Mary Ellen Ostoja. Loving father of Mary Jo Woods and husband Robert Woods, cherished grandfather of Justin Woods and Britni Bell and her husband Derek Bell. Loving Brother of Michael Ostoja (Florida),and the late Marie Lucas and Frank Ostoja ,loving brother in law to Anna Marie Barbeau. He is the son of the late Joseph and Madeline Ostoja. Also survived by many nieces, nephews ,grand nieces and grand nephews along with their families. A Native of Sacramento who moved to Plano nearly 3 years ago to be with his daughter and son in law. A long time very active parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church . He was heavily involved with the Holy Name Society, and was part of the founding team for the Bingo Games raising money for the church and School. When Father Dan Madigan started the Sacramento Food Bank he was there for many years working in a cause he so believed. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School and soon after joined the Marines when WWII broke out. He worked for Triangle Produce for 32 years and upon retiring started his second career for 32 more years working for W.F. Gormley and Sons. Joe always had a smile and a good word for everyone he knew... he had many friends young and old who he kept in close contact with his weekly phone calls. A decade of the Rosary will be said in his memory on Friday March 17 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 3263 1st Avenue, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be offered for repose of his soul. Burial will follow at St Mary Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to Sacramento Food Bank or Christian Brothers High School.
