Margaret Ann Cook

Margaret Ann Cook, a lifelong resident of Sacramento, died Friday the 17th of March in Auburn, California. Always known as Peggy, she was born on October 31, 1934, the daughter of Oliver and Beatrice (Riley) Cook. Raised in her grandparents home, she attended Sacred Heart Parish School, Saint Joseph Academy, Sacramento Junior College and in retirement, American River Junior College. Peggy began her working career at Pacific Telephone and briefly as an employee of the State of California. She then became an employee of SMUD for many years, retiring in 1988. Peggy loved and excelled in bowling, participating in tournaments and championships throughout California. She enjoyed travelling with family and friends and was a devoted Oakland A's fan. She was an avid reader, liked a good movie that she could recall in detail and had a large collection of photo- graphs chronicled for her by her sister Sally that allowed her to tell her story. Peggy was a long time member of A.A. In her later years, she preferred a private life. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Geraldine Sullivan. She is survived and will be remembered by sisters Patricia Smith, Joan Cassinelli, Susan Schneider, Sally Fritchie, Kathryn Owens, their families and relatives too many to list.

Services will be private.

We ask that you remember her well.
