George William Dunn Iii

George William Dunn III, passed away in Sacramento on June 20, 2017 at the age of 68.  A former Chief of Staff to Governor Pete Wilson and professor at Claremont McKenna College, George was usually the smartest person in any room. He grew up in the San Diego area and graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 1972 with a degree in political science and a master's in government. George spent his entire career devoted to good government and always put sound public policy above partisanship and ideological differences. A true renaissance man, George was an accomplished choir singer, artist, piano player, tap dancer, chef and so much more. George was wickedly funny in his stories, astoundingly intellectual, fiercely loving of his family and friends, ardently devoted to his faith, and incredibly generous with his time, attention, and love. We will all miss his warm smile, quick wit, and most of all, his stories. Cheers to a brilliant man and a life well lived. George is survived by his wife Kimberley and son Max; Adam, Sheena and his grandson Leo Link; siblings Michael Dunn and Candy Morgan, and dear pups Thunder and Henry. Services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 11 a.m at Sacred Heart Church, 1040 39th St, Sacramento, CA 95816. Reception to follow, details provided at the service.
