Carl Wesley Cornett, aged 93 years, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2017, in Sacramento. He was born in rural Flat Ridge, Virginia, on March 21, 1924, the tenth of fourteen children of Malinda and Stuart Cornett. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Cornett worked for many years as an electrician in the Washington, D.C., area, and as a farmer in Grayson County, Virginia. He and his wife relocated to Sacramento 18 years ago to be closer to his son and family. Mr. Cornett is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret Watson Cornett, loving son Craig Cornett, daughter-in-law Mary Meuel, and granddaughters Sarah and Emily, all of Sacramento. He is also survived by a sister and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held in Elk Creek, Virginia, on July 14.
