Mary M. Rich

Surrounded by family, Mary M. Rich passed away March 11, 2018 in Elk Grove CA.  She was 95 years old.  Born May 1st, 1922, Mary was a lifelong resident of Redwood City.  She was the oldest of three children to Rose Mary and Eugene Cereghino of Genoa, Italy.  Preceded in death were her Parents, sister Nell Nahmens and brother Joseph Cereghino.  Also, preceded in death, was Mary’s beloved husband Archie and son Kenneth “Skeeter” Rich. Mary is survived by her loving daughter Linda Duffek (Michael), granddaughter, Carrie Duffek, and cherished great granddaughter, Olivia Duffek. Mary was a thoughtful giving person who was always there to lend a hand to someone in need.  She maintained many lifelong friendships in her community, some friendships she had for over 60 years. Family was very important to Mary.  She looked forward to attending birthdays, family gatherings and holiday dinners. For the past 16 months, Mary resided at The Meadows assisted care facility.  In her short time there, she cultivated new friendships and was a positive uplifting force to staff.  A special thanks to all staff at The Meadows.  Mary was well cared for and greatly loved. A sincere thanks to the Vitas hospice team that gave Mary, and the family, the support and care needed during a most difficult time. A memorial has been scheduled to celebrate Mary’s life, May 5, 2018 at 11am. St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 7595 Center Parkway, Sacramento CA  95823.
