Gwendolyn (Bobbie Glen) Freitag passed away in Sacramento on Mar 2, 2018 at the age of 87. She was born in Columbus, Georgia on Jun 29, 1930 and grew up in Pensacola, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents William Glen and Iris Copeland (Brady), husband Wallace S Freitag, sisters Winifred Markham (George), Betty Ann Johnson (Arthur), Virginia Pfeiffer (George), Isobel Wasem (Clint), Frances Gardner (Lemar), brother-in-law Donald A Freitag (Mary Ann) and son Thomas J Freitag (Connie). She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1948. Bobbie met her future husband on the white sand beaches of her home town near Pensacola Naval Air Station. They married in Pensacola in July of 1951 & had three children. In 1973 she & Wally then owned a contracting business with her brother-in-law Donald for 6 years called the Kitchen Shoppe splitting time with her sister-in-law Mary Ann manning the showroom. She & Wally built the family home (AKA the High Chaparral) in September 1968, and lived out her life in her beloved home until she had to go to a local care home. Mother was very artistic & enjoyed painting, sewing, making crafts & working in her garden. She is survived by her daughter Deborah J Freitag, son Russell A Freitag (Susan), grandchildren Tara, Marla, Jeromy, Amber, Rachael & Katherine, three great grand-children Coen, Zander & Jaxon and her favorite great niece Teresa Markham (Craig). Special thanks to Maria & Peter Tapela & Bristol Hospice for taking care of our Mommie Dearest for her last few months with us.
A grave site service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery on Tuesday Mar 27, 2018 at 10 am
