Kenneth J. Belke

Kenneth J. Belke, a native Sacramentan, passed away at the age of 98 on April 10, 2018.  He was on born on January 22, 1920 to Louis and Elsie Belke.  He attended St. Francis Catholic School and Christian Brothers School.  In 1941, Ken enlisted into the Navy and served his country during World War II for the next 4 years.  Upon his return home, Ken attended the University of San Francisco and graduated in 1949 with a Degree in Business Administration, emphasis in Accounting.  After passing the CPA exam later that same year, he was hired by Harry M. Straine & Sons.  He eventually made partner and retired in 1992 after 43 years.  In 1950, he married Joyce Beverly DeGroft, raised 3 children and enjoyed family, golf and travelling.  Throughout his life, Ken remained active in the Christian Brothers Brotherhood and served on the Board of Regents for Christian Brothers School.  He also served on the Board of Regents for Jesuit High School where he lobbied to have swimming added to their athletic program. During the 1970's, he enjoyed refereeing high football games.  Ken also served on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Society of CPA's and Valley Hi Country Club.  

Ken was predeceased by his brothers, Louis, Marion & Donald and sister Gladys Brillhart.  He is survived by his wife Joyce, his sister, Dolores Scott, son Timothy (Janet), daughters Tina Christianson (Roger) and Carolyn Dentinger (Mark), 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
