Carrie Lynne Ladd died April 8, 2018, at the age of 53 after a four-year journey with cancer. Carrie is survived by spouse Natalie, mother Lynne, and siblings: Bill (Lisa), Kim (Bela), Cassie (Bob), Tina (Karen), nieces and nephews Dustin, Brandon, Megan, Michelle (Ryan), Zack, Kyle & Kelsey, along with many friends she accumulated along the way. Carrie was preceded in death by her father, William J. Ladd.
Carrie graduated from CSUS in Kinesiology and had a lifelong career teaching Physical Education at Jackman Middle School, which she loved. Every. Single. Day. A teacher among teachers, a leader among leaders. An athlete, a coach and mentor, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a loving wife. Loved well and well loved!
Carrie loved to travel. Disneyland, Hawaii, Carmel were particular favorites, especially when surrounded by family. She loved music. She loved to dance. She loved to drink with friends, laugh and listen. She had great compassion AND passion not only for her own journey, but also helping others on theirs. She had a way of seeing to the heart of an issue and offering insight in just the right way, never forcing, just being a calm guiding presence. She was authentic - authentically her own person, encouraging others to be the same.
Carrie lived fiercely - facing down adversity with calm dignity and incredible determination - working hard to create love and joy, continuing the legacy her parents began.
Like her father, Carrie was a patriot. She loved all thing U.S.A: the armed forces, the Fourth of July, the national anthem, “Disney’s conversations with Mr. Lincoln.” And, like her father, she had great hair.
Carrie made famously delicious chocolate chip cookies, nuts and no nuts. She, and they, will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, give to someone in your community in Carrie’s honor: a nephew who could use $ for textbooks, a neighbor who might enjoy some cut flowers, a lunchdate with a sister, coffee with a friend, a favorite charity. Carrie can be remembered best with laughter, love and a good pint.
The public is invited to attend a celebration of life service to be held at The Table UMC - 5265 H St. Sacramento, at 10am on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
