Fell asleep in the Lord on June 6, 2018 peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Eternal be her Memory! Helen was born to parents, Nicholas and Constantina Kufasimes, on August 15, 1930 in Koupaki, Greece. She is survived by her children George, Nicholas (Carol), Dino (Evelyn) Rotas, and Effie (Tim) Crush; grand-children Nicholas, Alexis, Christina (George), Eleni, William Nicholas, Angelo, Christopher, Brian, and Katherine; sister-in-law Loula Kufasimes; brother-in-law George Koufasimis; first cousins Danny (Maria) Kaufman, George and Chris Psetas, many nieces and nephews, and several cousins, nieces and nephews in Greece. She now rejoins her beloved late husband, William "Bill", her brother Aris Kufasimes, parents and parents-in-law George and Katherine Rotas, and first cousins Taso and William Tasakos. She immigrated from Greece in 1946 and settled in Michigan until she married Bill in Sacramento in 1953. She was always proud of her Greek heritage, and was a member of both St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation serving as President of the Philoptochos Society for many years. She was also President of The Daughters of Penelope, Board member of the Annunciation Senior League, and a member of The Roumeli Club. Helen was known for her devotion to her husband Bill, her four children and numerous grandchildren, her deep involvement in the daily life of her church, cooking and baking Greek food, knitting, and traveling.
Friends are welcome to attend the Trisagion at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 600 Alhambra Blvd. Sunday evening, June 10, 2018 at 6pm.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 9am also at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Interment service to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
Makaria (Meal of Mercy) to follow at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the building fund of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation called "The Build."
