Casey Flynn passed away peacefully on August 25th at the age of 95 surrounded by her family. Casey is survived by her loving children, Jerry Flynn (Susan), Terry Flynn (Joyce) and Maureen Flynn-Zanze (Mike). Devoted grandmother to 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Casey was born on a farm in Woonsocket, South Dakota to Emil & Alvina Schmiedt. She relocated to Sacramento in the 1940s and worked in the restaurant business, where she met her first husband John Flynn. Always active in her community, Casey served as president of the Sacred Heart Mother's Club. And in her later years was president of the Hart Senior Center in Midtown Sacramento, where she organized weekly social gatherings, holiday parties, and casino bus trips, and you could always find her playing bingo (and winning!). Casey was a 20+ year resident of St. Francis Manor and lived independently into her 90s. An exceptional seamstress and baker, she was famous for her Christmas fudge and carrot cake. She loved her grandchildren fiercely, and never forgot a birthday.
The family would like to thank the staff at Whitney Oaks Care Center who lovingly cared for Casey, especially Rose, Harvey, Kamal, and Maria.
