Roger H. Staples said his final goodbye to family and friends on October 10, 2018 in Sacramento.  He leaves behind his loving wife Constance (Connie); daughter Michael Ann Dees, step daughter Dena Shulruff, sons Brian and Hugh, seven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Joelle Holford, brother Donald, nine nieces and nephews and more friends than he could count.  Preceded in death by parents, Melba and Donald, brother Mark and sister, Marcia Maher. Born in San Francisco February 20, 1935, raised on the San Francisco Peninsula and lived in the Sacramento area for the past 30 years. A graduate of Menlo Atherton High School, attended Menlo College, the University of San Francisco, and proudly served our country as a Marine in the Korean War. Business executive of Staples and Pfeiffer until his retirement in 2008. A long time member of the Olympic Club where he served on numerous committees culminating with the honor of serving as President in 1985. Member of the Granite Bay Golf Club from its inception and original board member. An avid fisherman, hunter and lifelong dedicated fan of the SF 49ers and SF Giants.  Donations can be made to First Tee of Sacramento. A Celebration of Life will be held October 29 at 1PM at Vizcaya, 2019 21st Street, Sacramento. In lieu of flying flags at half mast, raise a glass and toast this wonderful man.
