Miren K. Foruria

MIREN KARMELE FORURIA was born in San Jose, California to loving parents John Foruria Arrizabalaga and Maria Florentina Zaldibar de Foruria. She graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1976 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Social Welfare. Miren settled in Sacramento where she would call home for the next 38 years. Serving the State of California for 33 years, she held multiple positions in State Government, primarily as an Information Systems Analyst and Administrative Analyst. Miren is survived by her brother Jon Foruria, cousin Cara Foruria O’Neill, niece Marie Foruria Harrison and first cousin once removed Amber Foruria Eckert.  Miren was not only intelligent, hardworking and accomplished. She had a quick wit and dry sense of humor that would bring life to conversation. Miren was an energetic soul who loved white-water rafting, knitting, swimming and Pilates. Above all, she was an empathetic person who derived a great deal of happiness by supporting and helping others. To call Miren a friend is a true blessing in this life.  On October 19th, 2018 close friends and family gathered to celebrate their beloved Miren’s birthday in her hospital room at UC Davis Medical Center. Memories and loving words were shared in celebration of such a beautiful and giving soul. Later that evening, Miren quietly passed on with a smile on her face, in a room filled with love. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, November 5th from 10 am to 12 noon, followed by a Funeral Service at noon, at W. F. Gormley & Sons Funeral Home, 2015 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95811. Private inurnment at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, CA.
