CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL PETERSON passed away November 11, 2018, in a tragic auto accident. Chris was born March 8, 1986, in Sacramento; he was 32. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School. He served seven years in the US Navy with Naval Air Squadron VFA 192 Golden Dragons, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class and receiving various commendations during the course of his Navy career. After receiving an honorable discharge, Chris moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he completed his AA degree at Alamo College and was employed as a medical device technician. He was working toward his degree in business management at the University of Texas San Antonio at the time of his death.

Chris was a remarkable young man who was known for his lifelong passion for sports as competitor, coach, and loyal fan. He loved nothing more than encouraging those he cared for to excel. His quick mind, wonderful sense of humor, fresh perspective, commitment to his goals, and no nonsense leadership endeared him to classmates, teammates, co-workers, and friends. He was a tender-hearted, loving, devoted brother and son, a true gentleman who will forever remain in our minds and in our hearts.

Preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, his Aunt Kristi, and his cousin David, Chris is survived by his mother, Andrea Johnson, father and step-mother, Bob and Joanie Peterson, sister Kathryn Peterson, brothers Mark and Erik Peterson, step-siblings Kim Gates, Ashlee Gates, and Jake Ross, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, his beloved dog Carlton, and many friends.

Services will be December 6 at Sacred Heart Church Sacramento at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private with his immediate family.
