On October 10, 1938 in Henderson, Texas Charlie mae Luckey was born to John and Malinda Luckey. She was the youngest of the 11 children, 9 girls and a set of twin boys. Charlie Mae finished all 12 years of schooling in which she was rewarded a scholarship to Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. Charlie Mae had two girls Yolanda Gail and Sabrina Kaye when she met her husband Walter B. Johnson in 1960. They later had two boys Walter B. Johnson Jr. and Patrick Fitzgerald and moved to Sacramento, California where her husband was a cook in the military and she worked in a furniture store and was a care provider. Charlie Mae is survived by her elder sister Freedom Newman and sister-in-law Jimmie Luckey. Charlie Mae loved being with family, shopping, cooking and watching football especially her 49ers! Charlie Mae was the mother-in-law of DeWayne Burse Sr., Wendy Johnson and Sherri Johnson. The grandmother of Sequoia Burse, DeWayne Burse Jr., Japoria Goodspeed, Alexis Johnson and Patrick Johnson Jr. The Great grandmother of Alyssa Regalado, Da'Mario Burse, Keeonne Bobo, Bre'Lyn Prince, Kenzie Burse and Grayson Burse. She is also survived by a handful of nieces, nephews, family and friends, her stepdaughter Tammy Norse, her God children Christina Clark and Walter Hollis Jr., and her best friend Charlene. On December 24th, 2018 our beloved Charlie Mae was called home to join her husband and their eldest son Walter B. Johnson Jr. We Love you Sweet Charlie!
